Multi Spectral Source Pic Overview:

The Multi-Spectral Source (patent pending) is an integrating sphere based output source with integral extended area blackbody and pulsed laser sources (1.06nm, 1.57nm) that is used for simultaneous boresight and image resolution testing. The laser sources synchronize with adjustable delay for range-gated camera testing.

The MSS system is designed to support testing of gated cameras that are integrated into a multisensor package. The MSS combines both an infrared and laser source, allowing the gated camera to be boresighted with an IR sensor. In addition, the MSS serves as a uniform backlight for a variety of resolution targets.

Each system includes an MSS Source Sphere, System Controller, calibrated iProbe(s), interconnect cable and power cable. These systems are easily integrated with other SBIR products including target wheels, collimators, source select stages, range stages, boresight modules, visible illuminators, and laser test modules.

Features:
  • i-ProbeIntelli-Probe (i-PROBE)

The i-PROBE from SBIR is an intelligent temperature sensor that is calibrated independently of the blackbody system. To re-calibrate the system you need only exchange the probe with a recently calibrated one. No special equipment is required thus minimizing downtime.

  • Accuracy

Ultra-stable, highly responsive i-PROBES are used to provide very precise control, long term accuracy, and accurate repeatability. The i-PROBES are calibrated to an accuracy of under 0.010ºC. System uncertainty including calibration, stability, and uniformity is +/- 0.01ºC or +/- 0.1% of set delta T whichever is greater.

  • Multi-Function Controller

The Infinity controller features a touch screen display. The blackbody can also be controlled via an optional handheld remote panel or IEEE-488 GPIB interface.

The controller will also operate all of the SBIR peripherals: target wheels, visible illuminators, pulsed laser diodes and filter wheels.

  • Integrated blackbody source providing IR output controllable in both absolute mode (10°C-60°C) and differential mode (-15°C to +35C° ΔT)

  • Synchronized pulsed laser for precision range testing of gated cameras.

  • Simulated range adjustable from 100 to 100,000 meters

  • Pulse width adjustable from 20 to 500 ns

  • Output pulse radiant energy adjustable from 0.4 to 85 nj/cm2/sr

  • Pulse repetition rate in free run mode 1 to 1000 Hz
Multi Spectral Source PicOptions:
  • IEEE Std. 488 Interface (GPIB)
The thorough implementation of the ANSI/IEEE Std. 488.1-1987 allows for computer control of all integrating sphere commands, calibration and target wheel functions.

  • RS-232 Serial Interface
An optional serial interface provides computer control of all integrating sphere calibration and target wheel functions.

  • Rack Mounting
The integrating sphere controller is designed for bench-top or standard 19 inch rack use. Rack mounting ears come standard with the instrument. A rack slide kit is also available.
