Software Engineer   Top

Responsibilities:
Santa Barbara Infrared, Inc., (SBIR) is recruiting a Software Engineer to assist with multiple aspects of our product line. SBIR's company focus is to develop high-quality products in a collaborative and positive environment with a good work-life balance. The Software Engineer duties include development of embedded systems software, data acquisition and storage, communication protocols and GUI in desktop applications. The responsibilities of the Software Engineer include executing the full software development life cycle from initial design to release management. The position requires the ability to write well-designed, testable code, and to integrate software components into a fully-functional software system. The position entails documentation and maintenance of software functionality, along with troubleshooting and upgrading of existing systems.

Requirements:
The successful applicant must have Bachelor's level degree in computer science or related field and 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in software development with C, C++, C# and .NET, as well as the ability to learn new languages and technologies. Experience with other languages such as WPF, SQL and Pascal/Delphi is desirable. Exposure to good software engineering practices, source control and unit testing is required. The Software Engineer must also have the ability to document requirements and specifications. Experience in graphical user interface design is desirable, as is experience with serial and Ethernet communication protocols. The ability to work both independently as well as with team members. The ability to work full-time. Embedded Software/Electrical Engineer   Top

Responsibilities:
SBIR is recruiting an Embedded Software/Electrical Engineer who will work as part of a talented multi-disciplined team to design and code embedded system software, including FPGA projects using VHDL. Electrical Engineer duties may include designing cables, interconnects and circuit boards. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1) Develop embedded code for systems that include 8051, ARM and NOIS microcontrollers using embedded Linux. 2) Troubleshoot and support for embedded systems using equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and DMMs. 3) FPGA and VHDL design. 4) Provide guidance as required to technicians.

Requirements:
BS EE, CS, CE or other relevant technical degree with 2 - 5 years of relevant experience. Embedded software and general hardware experience, including use of typical EE lab equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multi-meters and power supplies. Ability to work both independently as well as with team members. Ability to work full-time. The following are also highly desirable: Analog and digital circuit board development experience, including full documentation and design validation designs Experience with Altium (or similar) schematic capture and board layout tool. Design experience with I/O interfaces, such as Ethernet, Camera Link, SPI, RS-485. IT Technician   Top

Responsibilities:
The IT Technician will be responsible for: - Diagnosing computer problems - Monitoring computer processing systems - Installing software - Performing tests on computer equipment and programs - Setting up computer equipment - Scheduling maintenance - Teaching clients to use programs - Minor repairs - Ordering computer parts

Mechanical Engineer Intern   Top

Responsibilities:
SBIR is currently recruiting a Mechanical Engineer Intern. The Mechanical Engineer Intern researches, designs, develops and test electrical designs of infrared test equipment. Working under technical direction, generates mechanical fabrication/assembly drawings, bill of materials, and engineering change orders. Executes tasks according to schedule and budget. Perform maintenance to SolidWorks vault. Uses SolidWorks to perform mechanical engineering drafting tasks.

Requirements:
The successful candidate must be enrolled in BS ME or have equivalent experience. Software Intern   Top

Responsibilities:
SBIR is currently recruiting a Software Engineering Intern. The software intern will work on a wide range of aspects of our products. This work may include embedded software development up to GUI work. Working under technical direction, duties may also include software release management. This position requires someone knowledgeable in C, C++, and C#. Experience writing interfaces to devices is a plus as well as knowledge of SQL and other languages.

Requirements:
The successful candidate must be currently attending a school of higher education with the goal of obtaining a Bachelor or Master's degree in engineering from a college or university or must possess equivalent work experience. Human Resources Generalist and Administrative Go-Getter   Top

Responsibilities:
Santa Barbara Infrared, Inc. is recruiting an experienced and motivated Human Resources Generalist and Administrative Go-Getter. This position assists in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource and Payroll functions and helps to manage the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. This position assists in the general office administration of the organization. This position is key to the success and well-being of the whole organization. This position providing human resources services, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, AA/EEO compliance, and labor relations; completing personnel transactions and our fun activities, too. Responsible for maintenance of HRIS and payroll processing through ADP Vantage. Works closely with the accounting team to ensure a timely and accurate payroll.

Requirements:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College is desired and 5-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. PHR certification preferred. General knowledge of federal and California employment laws and practices. Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel and skills in database management and record keeping. Experience with ADP Vantage is a plus. Effective oral and written communication. Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Ability to work full time in an office environment. Excellent organizational skills and ability to enjoy multi-tasking.
